Spray foam insulation is used in residential for new construction homes as well as remodeling projects. Spray foam insulation is best for walls, attics and crawl spaces. Spray foam insulation is the best energy saving insulation you can buy. Spray foam insulation will save you up to 50% on your heating and cooling bills compared to other insulations. Spray foam insulation achieves this by expanding and sealing up cracks and holes so that there is no air infiltration or air (cooling or heating) loss. No other insulation does this. I refer to this as “Insulation that stops the air!”
There are basically two types of spray foam insulation used for residential. Most people reference to them as either open cell spray foam insulation or as close cell spray foam insulation. Our open cell spray foam insulation is a class 1 .50 pounds per cubic foot (PCF) open cell spray polyurethane foam insulation. Our open cell spray foam insulation can be used in walls, floors and attics.
Close cell spray foam insulation can be different PCF’s. Our most used close cell foam insulation is a class 1 2.0 PCF close cell spray polyurethane foam insulation. Close cell spray foam insulation adds strength to your home that no other insulation can do. Studies conducted have proven that using close cell spray foam insulation over doubles the wind load capacity of the structure compared to using other insulations. Close cell spray foam is also a class II vapor retarder that is perfect for insulating below your hardwood floors so that moisture will not come up into them which can cause them to raise and buckle.
Whether you want lower utility bills, have a stronger safer house, or are just plain tired of those cold floors, spray foam insulation is the best choice of insulation for you.
